Karl Hyde
Managing Director
Karl Hyde is Managing Director of Professional Guarding Facilities Management (PGFM), bringing over 20 years of experience in the security industry, spanning operational management, client relationships and business leadership. With a background in the military and extensive experience delivering security services, Karl takes a practical, hands-on approach to leadership, with a strong focus on service quality, operational standards and building lasting client relationships. At PGFM, Karl is focused on developing the business, strengthening strategic partnerships and ensuring the company delivers a reliable, responsive and professional service to its clients.
Asif Butt
Director of Operations
Asif Butt is an experienced security industry professional and business leader with over two decades of experience in security operations, risk management, client relationship management, workforce leadership and business development. As Director of Operations at PGFM, Asif oversees operational delivery, service excellence and client satisfaction, while contributing to the company’s strategic growth and long-term development across security and facilities management. Throughout his career, Asif has developed extensive practical experience in managing security operations, leading teams, strengthening client partnerships and delivering effective operational solutions. His leadership style combines commercial awareness, strategic thinking and a hands-on approach to achieving high standards. Academically, Asif holds a degree in Business Management with Marketing from Middlesex University and a degree in Security Risk Management from the University of Leicester. This combination of business and specialist security education supports his understanding of operational risk, organisational leadership, commercial strategy and service delivery. At PGFM, Asif is focused on strengthening operational performance, building lasting client relationships, developing high-performing teams and supporting the company’s continued growth through professional standards, accountability and a commitment to excellence.
Satia Rai
Executive Director
Satia Rai is a history-making global leader and industry pioneer, recognised for her transformative
impact on the private security sector and her leadership in Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging
(EDI&B). Satia is the Executive Director for Professional Guarding Facilities Management (PGFM). With
30 years of experience, beginning on the frontline, Satia brings a unique perspective shaped by firsthand industry experience, strategic leadership and an unwavering commitment to driving meaningful
change.
In 2022, Satia made history as CEO of the International Professional Security Association (IPSA),
becoming the first woman of colour and first LGBT+ woman to hold the role. She has championed
industry-wide collaboration, strengthened representation and advanced initiatives that challenged
traditional norms, helping shape a more inclusive, progressive and forward-thinking private security
sector.
A respected global voice for the industry, Satia is passionate about the future of security, inclusive
leadership and the people who protect our communities. Her work spans industry advocacy, strategic
partnerships, governance, EDI&B and the advancement of women and underrepresented groups, with
a focus on creating lasting change across the security and wider protective services sectors.
Satia is also the Founder of Women in Protective Services (WIPS), championing women across
security, policing, defence, emergency services and the wider protective services community. Through
her advocacy, she is committed to empowering the next generation of leaders, breaking down barriers,
strengthening representation and creating opportunities for women and diverse talent to thrive.
Driven by purpose, collaboration and impact, Satia continues to champion safer, fairer and more
equitable communities, believing that true leadership is measured not only by the progress we make,
but by the opportunities we create for others.
