Our very own Jason Slack (below) and Bill Rowe have hit the headlines after the discovery of rare audio tapes and films.  Check it out!

Jason appeared on ‘BBC Look North’ and Radio Leeds on Wednesday April 7th 2010.

Les Barnes was joined by good friend John Barton for the ‘Northern Soul Hour’ on the Magical Mystery Tour in May  ….. great timing ….. John lives in Wigan and was able to tell us about his visits to the Wigan Casino in the 1970’s!

Poplar Help….

The ‘Bramley for All Ages’ singing event took place on Tuesday April 27th 2010 at 1.30pm in Trinity Methodist Church Bramley.   Bramley Elderly Action asked Radio Poplar to produce recordings for all the singers. The concert featured  choirs from ‘Bramley Elderly Action’ and the ‘5 in 1 Primary School Choir’ and was funded by the Inner West Area Committee. Bill Rowe and Chris Eagle from Radio Poplar produced the recording and will include a selection on Thursday May 6th on their programme ‘All Sorts’ between 7 and 9 p.m.

Carnival 2010

Bramley Carnival Queen – Erin Lloyd, aged 9, Princess Sophie Bradburn, aged 11 and Princess Charlie Connolly, aged 12 – along with their parents – joined Bill, Chris and Emil on ‘Allsorts’ on June 3rd at 7 p.m.

Oscar Lloyd plays the part of ‘Will Wylde’ in ITV’s ‘Emmerdale’ ….. he visited ‘The Magical Mystery Tour’ and then presented his own show on Radio Poplar on June 11th 2010.  You can hear his interview with Les Barnes by clicking here.
